How we handle your personal information under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). Last updated: 8 October 2026.
Who we are
Nova Site is a web design studio in Pretoria, South Africa. We are the responsible party for personal information collected through novasite.co.za. Our Information Officer is Ryno Kahl, reachable at info@novasite.co.za or +27 75 947 9549.
What we collect
When you contact us: your name, company, email address, phone number (optional), the service you are interested in and your message. You give us this through the contact form, email, WhatsApp, phone or LinkedIn.
When you browse the site: if you accept cookies, Google Analytics records anonymous usage data, such as the pages you visit, how long you stay, your approximate location (city or country), your device and browser type, and the website that referred you. We cannot identify you personally from this data. If you decline, no analytics cookies are set.
Why we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and send you a quote.
- To deliver and support the work if you become a client.
- To understand which pages are useful so we can improve the site.
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising or add you to a mailing list without asking.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers we need to run the business: our web host (Hostinger), our email provider, and Google (for Analytics, if you consent). Some of these providers store data outside South Africa, and we only use providers that protect personal information to a standard comparable to POPIA.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries for as long as needed to respond and follow up, and client records for as long as the law requires for tax and accounting. Google Analytics data is kept for 14 months.
Cookies
The only cookies on this site are Google Analytics cookies, and they are only set after you click Accept. You can change your choice at any time using Cookie settings, or clear cookies in your browser.
Your rights
Under POPIA you can ask what personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct or delete it. You can also object to how we use it. Email info@novasite.co.za and we will respond within a reasonable time.
If you are unhappy with how we handled your information, you can complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforegulator.org.za or complaints.IR@inforegulator.org.za.
Security
The site runs over HTTPS, and enquiries are only accessible to the Nova Site team.
